Dr. med. Jörg-Peter Sigle

ist Facharzt FMH für Innere Medizin und Hämatologie und Facharzt hämatologische Labordiagnostik FAMH. Seine Weiterbildung absolvierte er in Basel und in London. Seit 2012 ist er der operative Leiter des regionalen Blutspendedienstes Aargau/Solothurn. Seine Forschungsgebiete sind Sicherheit von Blutprodukten und klinische Transfusionsmedizin mit speziellem Fokus auf Transfusionsprobleme bei HLA-sensibilisierten Patienten.

Dr. med. Laura Infanti, MSc

ist Fachärztin für Hämatologie FMH und Fachärztin in hämatologischer Labordiagnostik FAMH in Ausbildung. Ihre Weiterbildung hat sie in Udine und Basel gemacht. Sie absolvierte 2010 ein Masterstudium in Transfusion and Transplantation Sciences an der Universität Bristol. Ihre Spezialgebiete sind Blutspenderforschung mit Schwerpunkt Eisenstoffwechsel sowie die Pathogenreduktion von Plättchenkonzentraten.

Dr. med. Alix O’Meara

ist Hämatologin und Onkologin in Ausbildung. Ihre Weiterbildung führte sie bis jetzt nach Aarau, Zürich und Basel. Ihre Spezialgebiete sind Blutspenderforschung mit Fokus Eisenmangel sowie klinische Studien im Bereich Stammzelltransplantation. Sie erhielt den Preis für die beste klinische Arbeit der Schweizerischen Gesellschaft für Hämatologie 2011 für Ihr Paper “The value of routine ferritin measurment in blood donors“.

Prof. Dr. med. Martin Stern

ist Facharzt FMH für Hämatologie. Seine Weiterbildung absolvierte er in Basel. Nach einem postdoctoralen Aufenthalt in Perugia hat er 2010 seine eigene Arbeitsgruppe Immunotherapy im Departement Biomedizin des Universitätsspitals Basel eröffnet. Prof. Stern unterstützt das BSZ in der Planung und Durchführung von Studien.

Dr. med. Jörg Halter

ist Facharzt FMH für Hämatologie und ist Oberarzt auf der Hämatologie und Präsident der Transfusionskommission des Universitätsspitals Basel. Seine Weiterbildung hat er hauptsächlich in Zürich absolviert. Er ist spezialisiert auf die Nachsorge von stammzelltransplantierten Patienten sowie auf Stammzellspenderforschung. Er ist der Spiritus Rector des weltweiten Stammzellspender–Follow-up Programms. Zusammen mit Dr. Halter erarbeiten wir Richtlinien für die Spendetauglichkeit von Geschwister-Stammzell-Spender.

Ketevan Keshelashvili

hat Medizin in Georgien studiert. Sie arbeitet im BSZ an Ihrer Dissertation zum Thema Eisenüberladung und Blutspende.

Olena Stefashyna

hat Medizin in der Ukraine studiert. Sie schliesst in Kürze Ihre Dissertation mit dem Thema Blutspender und Hämochromatosemutationen ab.

Dr. med. Sara Meyer, MD PhD

ist Hämatologin in Ausbildung. Nach  ihrem PhD in Bern und Philadelphia PA  zum Thema ADAMTS13 absolvierte sie Ihre klinische Ausbildung in Baden und Basel. Ihr Forschungsgebiet ist transfusioninduzierte Eisenüberladung bei allogener Stammzelltranplantation.

Dr. med. Andreas Buser

ist Facharzt FMH für Innere Medizin und Hämatologie und Facharzt hämatologische Labordiagnostik FAMH. Er hat die Aus- und Weiterbildung in Basel absolviert. Nach einem postdoctoralen Aufenthalt in Leiden, NL, wurde er 2008 Chefarzt des BSZ SRK beider Basel und Leiter der neu gegründeten Forschungsgruppe. Sein Hauptforschungsgebiet ist die Alloimmunisierung nach Bluttransfusion, die Pathogenreduktion von Blutprodukten und die Blutspenderforschung.
